This time around, I wanted to try something a little different. I wanted to try and do some wireframing in photoshop and use it as my template for the exhibit. I learned a lot from building this exhibit. Putting it together wasn't hard, but I wanted to use what I learned in my other classes and make this fictional webpage easy and intuitive for people to use. I put my mind into a designer mindset and really thought about problems I never think about when visiting a website. Things like, what houses should I show on the landing page? How many house profiles should I have on a page? Is this overwhelming? How big should the boxes be to make this nice to look at and use? And then there was the menu... that was a treasure chest of questions. So many questions about what search fields should I add and why, and if not should I add them to an advance search.   For the banner photo, I didn't want to have unrealistic houses, such as mansions so I chose something that most people can afford, and that looks nice -- townhouses. The multi colors of the townhomes really look nice with the blue accent of the page. It's a very calming experience to look at and I would expect the same to use. This can come in handy because looking for a home can be stressful. The template allows the six house profiles to be quickly swapped out for new images, kind of like if it was built into the programming of the site, profiles would come and go.
