I'm a huge fan of Japan, and even though my favorite city is Kyoto, much of the Olympics is going to be celebrated around the Tokyo region. I didn't quite know what to do but knew it had to do something with the Olympics in Tokyo. So after a few hours of experimenting, I came up with the idea of having a silhouette of the Tokyo with Mount Fuji in the background. The design was bland and had no color, other than grey and black, and I wanted to spice it up, so I decided on introducing a red sun to bring some history into the picture as well as color. The red sun really made it pop. It drew the eyes in immediately to the important parts of the photo, parts that are commonly known as landmarks in Tokyo. I made Mt. Fuji the main focus for one of my photos, but changed it up, and instead made the Olympic logo the focus in my other variant photo. I didn't quite know how to do silhouettes in photoshop at the time, so I kind of tried my best to do it by masking black around the main structures of the city. This is why some are jagged and tilted, but to be frank, I'm proud of biting the bullet and trying something new. If I were to try this again I would use channels to accomplish this effect. All and all, they turned out pretty good for my first try, and personally, I still can't choose which one I like more.
